creating a fair and balanced tax system
Our tax system is long in need of an overhaul. Changes are needed to make a more fair and efficient system for all Americans. We can reduce the burden on hard-working families and still fully-fund our necessary public investments -- in defense, education, infrastructure, and emergency services -- by simplifying the tax system while making it more progressive.
Simplify the income tax system by reducing the number of rates.
Reduce taxes on working and middle class Americans. (This would include everyone making up to $500,000 a year.)
Make tax reform “revenue neutral” by increasing the tax rate on income over $1 million a year. (This income isn’t earned the way that other income is, and certainly shouldn’t be taxed the same way.)
Establish a corporate tax system that encourages the hiring of American workers.
